Important Information

The Azerbaijan e-Visa must be used within 90 days from the date of issuance. Kindly make your travel arrangements accordingly. The Azerbaijan visa allows a single entry only and a maximum stay of 30 days. You must leave the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the e-Visa that was used to enter the country. The validity period of the traveler’s passport should be at least 6 months after the entry date in Azerbaijan. The electronic visa must be presented with the passport at the border control post. It is mandatory to have a clear & readable printed copy of your e-Visa.

If the electronic visa is not used within the period of validity, it becomes invalid & cannot be carried forward for any next trip. Your e-Visa application should be submitted before your planned date of travel. Even if you are eligible, you cannot obtain a visa upon arrival at the border checkpoint of the Republic of Azerbaijan. You can apply if your purpose of travel is: Tourism, business, medical treatment, humanitarian, sports, culture, education, science, business trip, personal trip or education. In case of rejection of an e-Visa application, you may re-apply for a visa at a relevant diplomatic representation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Travelers with dual or multiple citizenships must choose the country of nationality in accordance with the travel document to be used for their trip.

Q – What is the Azerbaijan electronic visa (e-Visa)?

A – The Azerbaijan e-Visa or electronic visa is a travel authorization for citizens of eligible countries to travel to and within Azerbaijan for a period of thirty (30) days. The e-Visa for Azerbaijan can be easily obtained online through an application. This means there is no need to visit an embassy or consulate to obtain the correct, valid travel documents before visiting Azerbaijan.

Q – How long is an e-Visa for Azerbaijan valid?

A – The Azerbaijan e-Visa has a validity period of ninety (90) days). The e-Visa holder can remain in Azerbaijan for a total of 30 consecutive days only.

Q – Do I need an e-Visa for transit through Azerbaijan?

A – If the tourist is traveling in transit through Azerbaijan and decides to leave the airport at any time, they will be required to present an e-Visa for Azerbaijan.

If the traveler remains within the International Transit Area, he or she is not required to apply for an Azerbaijan e-Visa.

Q – I want to apply online for an Azerbaijan e-Visa. What do I need?

A – To apply for an online Azerbaijan e-Visa, applicants need the following:

–       Passport is valid for at least six (6) months from the arrival date in Azerbaijan.

–       Flight/Hotel Booking

–       E-mail address.

–       Please note that on occasion Azerbaijan authorities may require travelers to provide additional documentation.

Q – Do children need an e-Visa for Azerbaijan?

A– Yes. Children, whether included on their parents’ or legal guardians’ passport or with individual passports, must apply for a separate e-Visa via the online application system. Please keep in mind that all the information provided must be accurate and correspond to the child’s travel document.

Q – How long will it take for my Azerbaijan e-Visa to be processed?

A – Once the application is complete the e-Visa for Azerbaijan will be processed within 24 hours but in some cases, it can take up to three (3) business days. This is why it is essential that the e-Visa be requested at least three (3) working days before departure. The applicant will receive an e-mail with the authorized e-Visa for Azerbaijan once the application is complete and any supplementary documentation has been provided.

Q – What should I do after I receive my Azerbaijan e-Visa?

A – Once you have received the Azerbaijan e-Visa, you must print at least one copy of the document and present it to border authorities at your arrival in Azerbaijan, together with your passport. It is highly recommended to hold on to the e-Visa at all times throughout your stay.

Q– How many entries am I permitted with an Azerbaijan e-Visa?

A – The Azerbaijan e-Visa is a single-entry visa. This means that its holder is permitted to enter and exit Azerbaijan just once. If the traveler wishes to leave and re-enter the country, he/she should apply for a new e-Visa. Please note that it is only possible to apply for the e-Visa from outside of Azerbaijan. It is not possible to apply for an Azerbaijan e-Visa while in Azerbaijan. If the applicant has obtained several e-Visas, he/she should leave the country with the one that was used to enter the country.

Q– I’ve already visited Azerbaijan using a single-entry visa. Do I need to apply for another e-Visa for Azerbaijan?

A– Yes, the current e-Visa for Azerbaijan is not valid for multiple entries or for longer than 30 days at a time, therefore, it is necessary to apply for a second e-Visa before traveling back to Azerbaijan.

Q– Can I apply for an e-Visa for Azerbaijan if my passport is about to expire?

A– It depends on the date of expiration of your passport. If your passport is valid for at least six (6) months after your expected arrival date in Azerbaijan, then you are eligible and can apply for the Azerbaijan e-Visa.

Q – Should the e-Visa be attached to the passport?

A – No. The approved e-Visa for Azerbaijan is sent to the applicant via e-mail where he or she can download and print a copy to present together with their valid passport but it should not be stuck or stapled inside the passport.

Q– What do I do if I have two (2) passports?

A – If the applicant has two passports due to dual-nationality, he/she must select the passport they will use to travel and introduce the information from this passport. There must not be any inconsistencies between the official travel document and the information provided on the e-Visa application.

Q – Within how many days must a foreigner register in their accommodation?

A – When visiting Azerbaijan it is necessary for the foreign citizen to register in their accommodation with the State Migration Service if they are staying for more than 10 days in the country, regardless of a change of residence. No fee is charged for the registration.

A – An applicant can contact our customer service department via the Verify Status form to find out the status of his/her application however usually updates and notifications will be sent via e-mail to the applicant promptly following submission of the application.

Q – Can I extend my stay with the e-Visa?

A – Yes. If an applicant wishes to extend his or her stay in Azerbaijan, they must visit the State Migration Service in Azerbaijan to do so. An e-Visa holder is not permitted to prolong their stay without prior permission from the Government of Azerbaijan. Failure to communicate the extension to the proper authorities could result in legal actions under Article 575 of the Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Administrative Offences.

Q – Can journalists apply for an Azerbaijan e-Visa?

A – Foreign media correspondents and camera operators may apply for the Azerbaijan e-Visa online only once they have acquired the correct accreditation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Any foreign national participating in journalistic activities without this authorization could be expelled from Azerbaijan if there are unable to present the accreditation and approved e-Visa.

Q – What do I do if my Azerbaijan e-Visa is denied?

A – In case of denial of Electronic Visa, travelers must apply for a normal visa to the closest diplomatic mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Q – I submitted my application for the e-Visa and I still haven’t received a confirmation, what do I do?

A – Once the application has been submitted and payment processed, the applicant will receive a confirmation of reception via email. It is possible that this message could be redirected to Spam/Junk mail inboxes. We ask all applicants to carefully check their e-mail inboxes before contacting us.

Q – I’ve realized that some information on my e-Visa is incorrect, what should I do?

A – It is strongly recommended that all applicants verify their applications and the information contained within before submitting it. This is essential because any errors in the data provided, no matter how small, can result in the application being rejected. All information must correspond correctly to the travel document (passport) supplied. If the applicant has already submitted the e-Visa application form and realized that it contains inaccurate information, he/she is advised to contact us immediately at booking@zedint.com.
